Next Generation Of Scalpel-Free Aesthetic Treatments

Titan Procedure

Duration: About 20 minutes.

Downtime: None.

Pain Factor: None with application of anaesthetic.

Side Effects: Temporary redness and mild swelling.

Maintenance: Once every year or every 18 months. If the patient has severe acne scars, she might need three sessions over three months. Boaster treatments can be done one to three months after the first treatment to help the effect last longer.

Efficiency: Only one session is required to see results. Titan goes six to seven times deeper than lasers and IPL, and has immediate effects that improve over many months.

What The Experts Say: Titan is not a laser. It uses infrared technology, and the spread of heat is mare even and less painful. Unlike IPL that produces light in strong and short bursts to destroy pigments, or lasers that travel in a straight line, Titan's radiation extends over six to seven seconds in many directions, and goes deep into the skin layers without selective heating of pigments. Side effects such as hair loss are less common with Titan.

Thermafine Lift

Duration: Between 30 to 45 minutes.

Downtime: None.

Pain Factor: None.

Side Effects: High risk of burns on the outer skin, and the risk of cell injury.

Maintenance: Once a year.

Efficiency: Results can be seen after the first treatment. In some cases however, results may not surface for a few months.

What The Experts Say: RIF technology can be used on any skin type. Thermafine Lift may be more efficient than IPL and most lasers because of RF's ability to penetrate deeper into the skin.

Fraxel Laser

Duration: One to one-and-a-half hours.

Downtime: None.

Pain Factor: None with application of topical anesthetic.

Side Effects: Slight redness over a few hours or days.

Maintenance: Three to five treatments over four to eight weeks for maximum results. This can be followed by once-a-year sessions.

Efficiency: It takes three to five treatments to see results. The benefits are gradual, progressive and long-lasting, and the skin's texture remains good even after one year. This is better than conventional laser treatments because it offers little or no downtime, minimal side effects, and spot treatments.

What The Experts Say: There have been reports of downtime with peeling from the same procedure done.

Endermologie

Duration: About half an hour.

Downtime: None.

Pain Factor: Minor discomfort.

Side Effects: None.

Maintenance: Once a week or fortnight, depending on your needs.

Efficiency: Results can be seen after four or five treatments.

What The Experts Say: Endermologie is used after mesotherapy and liposuction to 'iron out' irregularities that can occur after fat removal, but it does not help to tighten the skin.

Transdermal Electrodiffusion System

Duration: 15 to 20 minutes.

Downtime: None.

Pain Factor: None.

Side Effects: None.

Maintenance: Once every two to three months.

Efficiency: Results are visible after one treatment. For maximum results, it needs to be repeated six times over three weeks.

What The Experts Say: This is a complementary treatment to microdermabrasion, IPL and radio-frequency treatments; it is unable to achieve a facelift effect or eliminate deep pigmentation.

LED Photodynamic Therapy

Duration: Half an hour.

Downtime: None.

Pain Factor: None.

Side Effects: None.

Maintenance: Once a month to three times a week, depending on skin's condition.

Efficiency: A minimum of four and an optimum of eight sessions to obtain good results.

What The Experts Say: Photodynamic therapy delivers best results when used in combination with other skin rejuvenation treatments, or to 'round off' cosmetic surgery procedures. Results, however, are said to vary.
