The British Cheese Board says that the type of cheese you eat can bring on a specific type of dream. For example, 65 per cent of people who ate Cheddar were found to have dreamt of celebrities. Apart from giving you happy dreams, cheese also contains tryptophan, an amino acid which reduces stress and promotes good sleep.

At best, sleep apnea causes heavy snoring; at worst, a heart attack. But sleep apnea is most deadly when it strikes young men. Israeli researchers examined the sleep-clinic records of 15,000 men and learned that 20- to 29-year-olds with sleep apnea have lo times the risk of a fatal heart attack compared with men who develop the problem later in life. Young men may have more severe cases, says lead study author Peretz Lavie, M.D.

This also suggests that the unconscious brain can actively reason, as well as produce weird dreams and Freudian slips.
